My life with N.P.D
Narcissism has become a topic of interest for me due to my 30-year-long relationship with a narcissist and my own tendencies towards it. It is a deeply rooted psychological trait that often stems from traumatic experiences such as neglect, over-admiration, or indulgence. Being spoiled can also contribute to the development of narcissistic tendencies.
Narcissistic disorder is often misunderstood as intentional behavior, but it is not always the case. Understanding what triggers the unraveling of this disorder is crucial to stop enabling it. Enabling narcissistic behavior can be dangerous, as it is deeply ingrained and twisted. It is important to recognize the different aspects of narcissistic behavior and take necessary steps to prevent it People diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder may not always be able to differentiate between right and wrong. It is important to understand that this is a disorder and not intentional behavior. It is unfair to constantly criticize someone with this disorder. It is also important to note that there are different types of non-empathy.It's unfair to dismiss all narcissists as having bad relationships because they are not all the same. People with non-empathetic and narcissistic tendencies may also exhibit sadistic or other traits, but being a narcissist in general does not mean lacking empathy. It's simply a personality trait.
It's unfair to judge someone for not knowing how to love or care for someone else. People are shaped and molded as they grow up, but emotions are not always easily controlled. Just because someone doesn't know how to do something doesn't mean they're a bad person. Imagine never being taught how to make a joke and then being expected to be a comedian. It's important to remember that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and we should be patient and understanding with each other.
It's not okay to make fun of someone who has seizures, if someone has Grand mal seizures. It's important to be kind and understanding towards those who have seizures, as it's not something they can control. Talking about someone's seizures behind their back is also cruel and unfair. We should all strive to be more compassionate towards those who are dealing with medical conditions.
It's important to handle difficult situations with grace and respect. If you find it too overwhelming, it's okay to remove yourself from the situation. However, it's not fair to spread false or hurtful statements about someone, especially if they have a disorder. Put yourself in their shoes and consider how you would feel if someone made fun of your child.
I know many individuals who exhibit narcissistic tendencies and prioritize being honest about their negative opinions of others over being two-faced or deceitful. They believe that it is better to be straightforward and upfront about their thoughts, even if they may come across as unsavory or unfavorable.
Since one bad narcissist gave them all a poor reputation, not many reach out for help due to the intense scrutiny they undergo once they do.
I'm not suggesting anyone should automatically forgive someone with narcissistic tendencies, as it only serves to perpetuate their behavior. Rather, we should first make sure we can sort ourselves out before attempting to help someone else understand and cope with their pattern of emotional and behavioral characteristics. Knowing how and when to walk away is an essential part of this process.story
