Cluster B personality types


Cluster B is one of the four clusters of personality disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). Cluster B personality disorders are characterized by dramatic, emotional, or erratic behavior. The four types of personality disorders in Cluster B are:

1. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): People with BPD often struggle with intense and unstable emotions, impulsive behavior, a poor self-image, and difficulties in relationships.

2. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD): People with NPD have an inflated sense of self-importance, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others.

3. Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD): People with HPD often display excessive emotionality and attention-seeking behavior, have a need for validation, and may be easily influenced by others.

4. Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD): People with ASPD often display a disregard for the rights of others, a lack of remorse or guilt, and a tendency toward impulsive behavior, aggression, and criminal activity.
